A recent poll asked 586 Francophone audio editing fans about what they considered the best commercial, General purpose editing tools. Almost half said that the audio editing features on theirnDAWs were adequate for their needs, a big jump from only 22 percent just four years ago. Steinberg Wavelab fared the best at 19 percent, followed closely by Magic Soundforge Pro with 18 percent. Third place goes to Adobe Audition, with competitors DSP-Quattro 5 and Acoustics 7 coming next, and Goldwave bringing up the rear.
